Did you chilled elements before attaching one to another to avoid sqeezing and deformations? I tried to work with polymer clay, but it was hard to me, to work with complex details without deforming them.

No, I didn't. When I make more complex things I bake the piece more times, but this is not that complex to me. You do as it fits you. :)
